Volunteer Position: Tea Brew Maker

Reports to: Executive Director
Schedule: One shift per week, 2–4 hours. May be completed anytime on the weekend or on Monday morning.
Commitment: One-year term (renewable after review)

At Our Father’s Table, every detail of the meal matters, even the tea. The Tea Brew Maker plays a quiet but essential role in helping our guests feel cared for through a warm, refreshing drink prepared with consistency and love.

Role Summary

The Tea Brew Maker is responsible for brewing, preparing, labeling, and restocking all tea brew needed for the weekly meals. This role ensures that our volunteers have what they need each evening to fix the tea dispensers and helps maintain a smooth flow of service in the kitchen.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Brew the weekly supply of tea brew using OFT recipes and standards

  • Prepare and label all tea containers

  • Clean and organize the tea prep area after use

  • Track supplies and notify the Executive Director when items are running low

  • Check in once weekly with the Executive Director when the task is completed

  • Follow all kitchen safety and sanitation guidelines

Qualifications

  • Dependable, organized, and able to follow recipes consistently

  • Able to work independently

  • Willing to commit to a full year of service

  • Alignment with the mission of Our Father’s Table Soup Kitchen

Requirements

  • Completed volunteer application

  • Two references

  • Background check

  • Participation in provided training

Time Commitment

2–4 hours per week with flexible scheduling on weekends or Monday mornings.
