Volunteer Position: Bookkeeper

Reports to: Executive Director
Schedule: 1–3 hours weekly; additional 5–6 hours annually during tax season
Commitment: Two-year term (renewable after review)
Location: Work from home plus one weekly stop at Our Father’s Table

Financial integrity is essential for any nonprofit, and especially for a ministry built on trust and generosity. The Bookkeeper supports Our Father’s Table by ensuring our finances are handled responsibly, transparently, and with great care, allowing us to faithfully steward the resources entrusted to us.
Role Summary
The Bookkeeper maintains accurate QuickBooks records, manages deposits and bill payments, prepares monthly financial reports, and assists with annual audit preparation and budgeting. This position requires a trustworthy individual who is organized, discreet, and comfortable handling confidential information.
Primary Responsibilities

Enter all financial transactions into QuickBooks

Prepare bank deposits and deliver them to the bank

Pay bills and track recurring expenses

Stop by OFT weekly to check for donations, invoices, and mail

Communicate regularly with the Executive Director

Compile monthly financial reports for the board

Collaborate with the Board Treasurer for board meeting preparation

Assist with yearly audit preparation

Send annual tax receipt letters

Help prepare the following year’s budget

Maintain confidentiality and follow OFT financial procedures
Qualifications

Proficient with QuickBooks
-
Strong attention to detail
-
Honest, trustworthy, and confidential with financial information

Organized and consistent with deadlines
-
Experience in bookkeeping or financial administration preferred

Alignment with the mission of Our Father’s Table Soup Kitchen

Able to commit to two years of service
